Food poisoning has played a role in a number of films throughout the years. Leslie Neilson’s character in Airplane investigates what’s making everyone on the plane sick (Did you eat the steak or the fish?). And who can forget the food poisoning scene in Bridesmaids. Even in the animated fairytale world of Disney, Snow White eats a poison apple.

But maybe some other films have had incidents of food poisoning that have been overlooked. Let’s take a look at a few and how they might have been prevented with proper food safety steps.

Research recently presented by a team of scientists in the Department of Animal Science at Texas A&M University (College Station, TX) reported the presence and identification of differing serotypes of Salmonella enterica recovered from Texas beef cattle feedlots. The team included Matthew Taylor, Ph.D. (Project Leader), Jason Gill, Ph.D., Ashley N. Arnold, Ph.D., Kerri B. Gehring, Ph.D., Jeffrey W. Savell, Ph.D., and Miss Yicheng Xie, Graduate Research Assistant.
